A forty minutes lyrical walk

… Salís de tu casa, por Arenales …
I leave, not my house but the gym, going down Arenales.  My camera zooms in on the sign across the street: “Centro Privado de Medicina Física y Rehabilitación. Tango-Terapia.” Tango sign and street name, a one second passage to music and lyrics of “Balada para un Loco.” (Music: Astor Piazzolla. Lyrics: Horacio Ferrer).

I turn left on Callao, towards La Heras. The same music and lyrics go around and around on my mind. I have traveled this path hundreds of times, always looking up – admiring the French architecture lining the avenue. Today I look down instead. I see “Balada para un Loco” lyrics engraved on the sidewalk. Too much coincidence? Not so. Oftentimes coincides happen in tango. Dancers know this.

Las tardecitas de Buenos Aires tienen ese qué sé yo, ¿viste? …
… Salís de tu casa, por Arenales …
