This event was prepared by Leonardo Suarez Paz, son of Fernando Suarez Paz, who recently announced his retirement. Fernando Suarez Paz accompanied Piazzolla for a decade.
Leonardo is indeed a talented artist, excellent violinist, singer, and conductor. His father gifted him a violin at age 8; Fabian Bertero was one of his mentors.
Leonardo presented a program including traditional and modern tango music and dance, as well as modern dance and a French song. He switched hats swiftly among all his roles. Entertaining and colorful, this show will be very well received by foreign audiences.
My favorite moment was a violin duo Between Leonardo and Fabian. Horacio Ferrer’s “Balada para mi muerte” was beautifully sung by Leonardo’s mother.
